• Assigned to work on an intern project developing chrome extension for Databricks in Data & AI team. After implementing the features 4 weeks earlier than scheduled, I took on a leading role in my team and led the development of the node.js based GraphQL backend service.

• Leveraged Spark, Delta Lake, Terraform with Databricks workflows, and Slack API, to build a Databricks monitoring and alerting system for resource exhaustion. The managers utilized the system efficiently to decide the budget planning for AWS and Databricks. 10 detected clusters were expanded to fulfill the needs of 500+ data engineers. The team manager allocated extra resources for the clusters resulting in a more than 90% decrease in the resource exhaustion.

• After accomplishing my assigned projects, I implemented the security measures for the backend service, which enabled last-mile authentication and the gateway to ensure the security of data transactions. I presented and taught the implementation to staff engineers and my team manager.

• The only intern to present the services in the Intuit Data Capabilities conference and received “Intuit Spotlight Award” for developing the projects and services above.

• Used C++ to implement an algorithm that resolves the semantic overlap search problem and finds the tables that have high semantic overlap to support Natural Language Processing

• Reduced the time cost of data processing by 80% through preprocessing the WDC dataset and visualizing performance benchmarks for different versions of the main algorithm using Python.

• Held 40+ office hours with more than 10 students in each session to review materials on Database Systems, answer questions, and provide guidance and assistance on building real-life database systems.

• Successfully led and managed 36 KATUSA Soldiers through combined forces field exercises and COVID19 force protection mission.

• Actively communicated with the US and ROK Army Commanders as a military diplomat to improve the unit cohesion. Managed various on-base social gathering events for both US and ROK Soldiers

• Received "The Army Achievement Medal" from Major General Gilland for dedication and service

• Provided over 3000 newly arrived 8th Army Soldiers with equal opportunity and treatment of persons training to ensure the importance of diversity and equal opportunity in the community

• Assisted in the planning, utilizing, and synchronization of all 2nd Infantry Division special/ethnic observances

• Conducted an international and Korean educational market research by collecting the statistics and analyzing the data.

• Provided insights about expected future educational market trends in Korea using governmental statistics.
